During the months of April and May, some of my Design posts are getting very positive responses from readers. I want to share titbits from a few of them in this article so that you can access all your favorite collections in one place.
An article on the importance of UI guidelines in the user experience design process. It lists down types of guidelines and how to create them. A collection of common design guidelines from Microsoft, Apple, and Google is also part of the article.“UI guidelines explain the best practices of UI components and understanding of their behavior by giving real examples. If you want to design a cohesive and consistent experience among your products, then you must have a set of guidelines with you.”
A collection of guidelines are presented on how to write good error messages that give the user a positive impression. Examples from different products are shown that guide about Do’s and Don’ts of error messages.
Becoming a UX mentor requires a few skills that enable you to share your knowledge and be a source of inspiration for your mentees. A mentor should be gentle and firm at the same time.“A mentor behaves like a teacher, a coach, an adviser, a therapist, and a counselor at the same time. He inspires his mentees through his words and actions.”

Guerilla usability test is performed on WhatsApp Web and a number of user pain points are identified. A set of recommendations are provided for each pain point that helps to resolve design problems.“The purpose of this article is to provide user feedback about WhatsApp Web, and I hope this exercise will help to further enhance its user experience.”
