Use appropriate input controls while designing a form for your users.
- Use a multi-line input control for longer, open-ended responses, such as comments, feedback, or detailed descriptions.
- Using a standard single-line input for long responses can limit user’s ability to view and edit their text efficiently.
- A multi-line input field visually indicates that users can provide more detailed or extended responses.
An appropriate input control makes it easier for users to understand how much information they can provide in a field.
